Today’s English Writing tutorial is all about Writing To Argue. Your child will be working with Alana to learn the key components and structures of this method of writing.

One of our tutor’s top tips when Writing to Argue is: Think about structuring your argument and using evidence to back it up.

To complete today’s English assignment, follow these 2 steps

  1. Watch the video, taking notes if necessary
  2. Take the reinforcement quiz to check your understanding

Maths

Your child’s Day 6 Maths tutorial will be on Fraction Problems, with Patricia. Fractions are a key part of the KS2 curriculum, frequently appearing in assessments in many forms.

Olex's Tip of the Day

Make use of all the time available in assessments.

Our expert examiners have told us that many students could pick up more marks by planning their time in assessments and making time to read through their answers at the end of a test. This helps students to spot any errors and can help boost their overall grade.

1. Try the question

First, ask your child to attempt the question below. Testing your child on a topic they have learned is critical to Retrieval Practice. Once they’ve tried the question, click on the image to see the answer.

2. Watch the tutorial

Further Practice

Now that you’ve followed the video, why not practice some more Fraction Problem questions by downloading the practice workbook on the link below.
